My unit supports the network gateway option kit, but when I try adding the unit to my account, it is stuck in the initialisation process. What do I do?

When adding a unit to your account, the Daikin Residential Controller app will automatically check and report on the initialisation status of that unit and indicate its progress with a progress bar.

Mind that the initialisation of 2nd generation Daikin Altherma heat pump units requires a reboot and can take up to 20 minutes.

If after 20 minutes the app still indicates that your unit is initialising, try the following actions:

  • Reboot the Daikin Altherma heat pump unit by switching the power off and on.
  • Verify with your installer that the heat pump unit's software is compatible with the used network gateway. It is possible that the software needs an update.

At this moment, the Daikin non-condensing gas boiler system (DRGATEWAYAA) is only compatible with the Daikin Room Thermostat (DOTT). When the connection between the gas boiler unit and the room thermostat is interrupted (e.g. defect, disconnected... ), the application will indicate that the gas boiler unit is initialising, as it needs to re-initialise its communication with the thermostat. As long as the gas boiler unit is not re-connected to the thermostat, the application will indicate initialisation status. Once a thermostat is connected, the initialisation (upload) progress can be checked on the screen of the thermostat.
